There is a lot of information out there. Not all of it will be useful to you.
New parents often face a flood of recommendations from books, websites, family members, and strangers. The volume can feel overwhelming, and much of the guidance conflicts with itself. One source says to follow a strict schedule. Another says to throw the schedule away. A relative swears by a certain method while a friend insists it made things worse.
The first step is to recognize that advice is not one-size-fits-all. Every baby has a different temperament, and every family has different circumstances. What works for one household may create stress in another. Parents should feel free to test suggestions and discard what does not fit.
It also helps to limit the number of sources you consult. Choosing two or three trusted references, such as a pediatrician and a single reputable guide, reduces noise and makes decisions easier. When advice feels pushy or judgmental, it is reasonable to step back.
Perhaps the most valuable approach is to trust your own observations. You spend more time with your child than anyone else. Your sense of what is normal for your baby carries real weight. Advice can inform, but it should not override your judgment or your peace of mind.
