In response to a troubling increase in youth crime within Richland County, Sheriff Leon Lott is urging parents to take an active role in their children's lives by enrolling in new parenting accountability courses. The initiative aims to equip parents with the necessary tools and knowledge to foster positive behavior and prevent criminal activities among their children.
The courses will cover a variety of topics, including effective communication, setting boundaries, and understanding the challenges faced by today’s youth. Sheriff Lott believes that by empowering parents, the community can work together to address the root causes of youth crime.
The program is designed not only to educate but also to create a support network for parents who may feel overwhelmed or unsure about how to guide their children. As the community grapples with this pressing issue, these courses represent a proactive step towards building a safer environment for all residents. Parents are encouraged to participate and take advantage of this valuable opportunity.
