MARIETTA — Nine incarcerated mothers at the Cobb Jail proudly received their diplomas on Tuesday, marking their successful completion of a comprehensive parenting course facilitated by the Cobb Sheriff's Office. This initiative, designed to equip participants with essential parenting skills, aims to foster positive relationships between mothers and their children, even while they are serving time.
The Parenting 101 course covers a variety of important topics, including effective communication, child development, and the significance of nurturing bonds. In addition to enhancing their parenting abilities, the program also promotes personal growth and self-improvement among the participants.
Graduates expressed a sense of accomplishment and hope for the future, emphasizing the importance of being better parents upon their release. By providing these women with valuable tools and knowledge, the Cobb Sheriff's Office is not only supporting their rehabilitation but also helping to break the cycle of incarceration within families.
